A Blue Cure to End Prostate Cancer

fact is more common in men (one in six) than breast cancer is in women (one in eight). Yet though 217,730 dads, husbands, brothers and sons were diagnosed last year and 32,050 died from prostate cancer, scant research is done - there’s no standard screening and little fundraising exists for research or for subsidizing screenings at an earlier age - two things which could save thousands of lives each year.

T That’s why it’s vitally important that

this male disease starts getting the same attention as women’s breast cancer.

When I was diagnosed last year at age 35, like most men I had little idea what it was. Now I do -- and I want to help others learn, too. So I’ve spoken across the country, written for The Huffington Post and the Houston Chronicle, met

And that’s why I’ve launched the Blue Cure Foundation, as the “blue” men’s side of the “pink” campaign for women’s breast cancer.

The Blue Cure Foundation is a new 501c3 non-profit to raise awareness of prostate cancer, spur earlier screenings, promote healthier lifestyles, seek cures and save lives. This is a cause to which I’m devoting the rest of my life. If we “think pink” but fail to “do blue,” we fail half our population.

Dr. Rod Paige Blue Cure already is gaining high-profile traction, with support from

survivors, advocates, celebrities, pro athletes, TV personalities, business leaders and government officials. Among those on board are actress Fran Drescher, actor- comedian Bob Saget, NFL Quarterback Matt Schaub, Former Secretary of Education Rod Paige, and International Model & Celebrity Apprentice’s Hope Dworaczyk.

Help me make a difference and join the Blue Cure movement.
