EVERY adult and child has amazing creative potential and the new dance classes offered by Anna Leatherdale (MA, LLAM) provide the ideal introduction to creative movement. Drawing on a wide
range of dance styles including contemporary, jazz, ballet, bollywood and musical theatre, participants gain the opportunity to think for themselves as they explore new movement, learn to develop and control the way their bodies move and gain valuable life skills including self- confidence, motor co- ordination, rhythm, discipline and imaginative problem solving.
All classes, whether for adults or for children, introduce new skills, keep the body and mind fit and active and provide the opportunity to meet people and have fun.
‘I’ve been very
fortunate,’ said Anna Leatherdale a former pupil of Barbara Spencer- Edwards, Devon Dance’s director.
‘I was introduced to a
range of different dance styles when I was a child growing up in Teignmouth, and it’s
enabled me to have a varied and interesting career. After training in London I went on to perform and teach in countries across Europe, and the confidence and breadth of experience I
gained through dance enabled me to work in a range of different jobs.
‘I’m delighted to have
gained the opportunity to return home to Devon and pass on my passion for dance.’
Children’s classes are held at the new Teign
Heritage Centre in Teignmouth while adult classes in a range of dance forms from Tap to Argentine Tango take place across the county. For more information visit
