50 September 3 - 16, 2011 BLD from Page 45

Families enjoy the $6 kids’ meals. Breakfast is a small beverage and choice of eggs and bacon or pancakes in flavors like blueberry, chocolate chip and strawberry. Lunch is a beverage and melon or salad and little one favorites such as chicken fingers, mac ‘n’ cheese, grilled cheeseburgers and ham and cheese sandwich.

Big folks’ lunch includes an array of salads such as the $11 BLD with chicken, dried cranberries, apples, walnuts, blue cheese, romaine and buttermilk dressing. Other menu items are the organic chicken or tuna sandwiches for $8, pasta primavera, $11, and the BLD Blue Burger with bacon and blue cheese.

Dinner runs the gamut from dinner salads to meat loaf and ribs to sandwiches and pasta. Patrons enjoy building their own dinners from the BYO menu. Pick a protein such as fish of the day or pork chops, then select a starch like risotto or garlic-cheddar mash and a veggie including green beans or mushrooms.

Dessert options feature Crave artisan ice cream and specials like cheesecake, but the treat of choice is the rocky road bread pudding that delivers all the custard, bread, chocolate, marshmallows, ice cream and toffee sauce that the name promises. BLD is at 1920 W. Germann in the Shops at Pecos Ranch in Southern Chandler. The cafe opens at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The doors close at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Call 480-779-8646 or visit www.bldchandler.com.
