New water facility spills facts on hydration options
Americans this year will spend nearly $11 billion on bottled water and recycle only 10 percent of their water bottles, according to research from Water U, a new water-education facility opening in Chandler in October.
Water U aims to drown out the perception that bottled water is the way to go and will offer comparisons on various hydration options for consumers, like tap, purifi ed and other water-fi ltration systems. The facility, located at 2390 N. Alma School Rd., Ste. 114, will offer demonstrations and water testing, as well as samples created using its high-tech water ionization system, which provides drinking water, water for sterilization purposes and water strong enough for household cleaning, without chemicals.

Former ad man uncovers new business opportunity
Losing his black suitcase on a business trip turned into a new business venture for Chandler resident and former advertising executive Greg Sanchez, who recently introduced Coverlugg, a stylish design cover that allows travelers’ luggage to stand out.
Coverlugg is a form-fi tting, durable neoprene fabric that goes over small and large suitcases to help travelers easily and quickly identify their bags on airline carousels. They are available in a variety of colored patterns, including sports teams, children’s themes and custom prints.
They are reusable and washable and have been approved for use on airlines and other transportation requiring security.
Sanchez and his wife, Jill, came up with the idea for the luggage covers last March and, within a few months, had their new business up and running. National media attention and commitments from local and international retailers have spiked business levels, and the Sanchez’s are still seeking additional fi nancing to keep up with manufacturing.
“Google is interested in offering our product to all of their (Fortune 500) clients. Are you kidding me? Wow,” says Greg.
