15 Air Products sponsors
Chandler’s centennial Air Products became the first company to commit to a Centennial sponsorship when Richard Jordan, manager of the Air Products facility in Chandler delivered a $15,000 check to Mayor Jay Tibshraeny and secured one of the top support levels as a presenting sponsor of Chandler’s Centennial Weekend Celebration, held May 17 through 19, 2012.
“Air Products wanted to take the lead in supporting the Centennial, and their enthusiastic response has already encouraged others Chandler businesses to step up and show their community pride,” says Tibshraeny. Nine companies have already committed $36,000 in sponsorship funding or in-kind support, and Tibshraeny says much more is needed to enable the Centennial Steering Committee to stage a number of events throughout 2012.

FELLOWSHIP AWARD: Chandler dentist Dr. Robert F. Walker, right, is honored by Fares Elias, president of the Academy of General Dentistry, for Walker’s ongoing dedication to his field and patients.
“We are hearing from large corporations, small businesses, service organizations and even families who want to help honor Chandler’s history and culture,” he adds. “And we have several contribution levels that make it easy for sponsors to help in a way that is appropriate for their size. That includes providing in-kind services.” Air Products provides ultra high-purity nitrogen and oxygen to the nearby electronics and semiconductor industry. The company recently announced that its Chandler plant will soon increase its production capacity and expand its nitrogen pipeline.
“We are proud to be in Chandler, and we want to be a part of the feel-good boost that the Centennial Celebration will give the community,” says Jordan. For more information on the Centennial Celebration and sponsorship opportunities, access
