Pelham - Windham News 6 - September 2, 2011
Grand Opening of Village Green Family Dentistry Patients looking for a dentist in the Windham
area now have a new option. Village Green Family Dentistry is now open and has scheduled a grand opening celebration on September 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., giving people a chance to meet Dr. Gayla Levine and her staff. There will be food, gifts, children’s activities, and a chance to win an iPad2®. The first 25 people who attend this event will receive a free OralB® Vitality™ Sonic power toothbrush. Village Green Family Dentistry is conveniently located at the Village Green Plaza on Route 111 in Windham. This new facility is designed
to accommodate current and future dental advancements. These modern environmentally friendly technologies help to provide safe and efficient care without the pain and time associated with old-fashioned dentistry. To protect patients from exposure to hazardous materials, the office is also equipped with a steam sterilization unit displayed behind a floor-to-ceiling glass wall for everyone to see. “Our practice is completely digital with

advanced imaging equipment and chartless patient records,” explained Dr. Levine, of Windham. “Not only does this mean that we’re more ‘green’ by using less paper and chemicals, but there is less radiation exposure, shorter appointments and higher quality images - it’s the right thing to do for our patients and the environment.” The imaging equipment also helps patients feel more comfortable in the chair. Unlike the sharp films used in traditional
x-rays, digital images are captured pain-free, and results can be viewed instantly.
Village Green welcomes patients of all ages, including those with special needs. The doctors and staff attend on-going training to provide the most up-to-date procedures and services to their patients.
“Our goal is to build relationships to help entire families improve and maintain their oral health,” said Dr. Levine. “We will educate each patient about the latest procedures and dental health care choices available to suit their specific needs. We want our patients to have a complete understanding about everything that we do, and will be using live-action video presentations to help explain complex procedures in easy-to- understand language. Patients are encouraged to make appointments
now by calling the office at 552-3486. Village Green Family Dentistry is located at 33 Indian Rock Road in Windham. For more information, call the office or e-mail

Auction is one of the most popular events at Pelham Old Home Day. This year the gavel goes down at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, to officially open another memorable auction day for the benefit of several worthy mission projects. This classic country auction is the essence of Old Home Day itself - so if you enjoy small town - “down home” country
auctions and all the “atmosphere” that goes with it, you won’t want to miss it. You will find the bargains unbelievable and the entertainment value - priceless. Auctioneers for the 105th Old Home Day event are Phil Currier, Bill McDevitt, Don Hornbeck, Dave Hennessey and Bill Ferguson. Every year auction items are needed - and every
year Pelham residents answer the call! Some suggested items for the auction are furniture, collectibles, beds, dishes, tools, toys and kitchen utensils. Donate only working items in good condition.
We do not accept computers, TVs or electronics. If you are moving, replacing items or just want to divest yourself of prize possessions - keep
Pelham Old Home Day in mind. Those wishing to donate are urged to drop off items at the auction area on Saturday, September 10, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, September 15, 6 to 8 p.m., or Friday, September 16, 12 to 8 p.m. Auction Chairman Chris Ludwig will be glad to
answer any question regarding the auction. He can be reached at
nhcoldmoon@yahoo.com. Proceeds from the Victor Spaulding Memorial
Auction help to support a variety of local mission projects, some of which are, the Nashua Soup Kitchen, Pelham Food Pantry, Pelham Good Neighbor Fund, Lazarus House, Bridges and the Lowell Wish Project.

Day promises to be a day of entertainment for all. The day starts off on the outdoor stage at 9:15 a.m. with a variety of popular songs by the Muldoon Park Band. The band is followed with demonstrations by Karate International, A2 Gym & Cheer and Third Stone Odyssey Band - a band that made its debut at Old Home Day in 2010. Dance demonstration by Dance Concepts starts off the afternoon segment followed by Family Martial Arts, and Irish step
dancing by the O’Halloran Step Dancers. The Big Parade starts to roll at 2:30 p.m. Lead by this year’s Grand Marshal, Ron Hannon, the parade will proceed up Marsh Road and end in Pelham Center. The parade theme this year is “It’s Easy Being Green” and to further emphasize the fact Hannon will have Pelham’s Recycler of the Year honored by riding in a Rolls Royce. A parade of classic cars, trucks, school groups, teams, band, community groups, scout troops, local businesses, politicians and horses will follow. The traditional doll carriage and decorated
bicycle parade is encouraged to be in the Big Parade.
A new addition this year is the Pet Parade. If you
have a pet you want to walk or ride in the parade - be our guest! Contact Tom Seniow, Parade

The right place at the right time. MaryBeth Testagrossa knows a thing or two about decisions supporting the changing needs of aging parents.
When MaryBeth’s mother, Ginny Stahley, had a stroke seven years ago, the family realized they needed more help and turned to Windham Terrace. After her passing, MaryBeth’s father, Charlie needed assistance too. MaryBeth remembered Windham Terrace. “By this time, Dad needed memory support; there was one residence available, and without hesitation, I took it,” she says. “Everyone in our family had to feel good about being there for Mom and Dad,” MaryBeth continues. “I believe I speak for all of us when I say, ‘I put my head on my pillow each night without worries.’”
If you are facing the changing needs of an aging parent or loved one, call to learn more about assisted living, memory care, and short-term stays.
