The first lecture, held Sept. 14, discusses the evolution of medicine and how this country has arrived at the current health care model. Buttler discusses depen- dence upon pharmaceutical medication as a primary treatment tool and what can be done to reduce this dependency, along with an introduction into optimal nutritional choices, daily methods of detoxifica- tion and alternative therapies for health management.

The second lecture, held Oct. 19, emphasizes the details on how members can begin creating a routine of health that has the power to both treat and prevent chronic disease from occurring. Dr. Buttler discusses the role inflammatory foods have on the body, such as gluten and dairy. He also explains how the body’s innate stress response is the No. 1 cause of disease and what can be done to combat it. Another area of Dr. Buttler’s expertise is in natural hormone therapies and how one can age gracefully using them.
