Welcome...

During the summer holidays, being out of the house before 9am always seems quite early. Now the children are back at school, things get going sooner. Those who drive to work long for the next half term and a return to quite roads while those without children at school may now be looking forward to their holidays. September is often a glorious month weather-wise. Let’s hope the 10th and 11th are fine days for the Findon Sheep Fair. This year Sussex Local are sponsoring the St John the Baptist School’s lamb handling contest and we will be awarding a rosette to a winning category on Saturday 10th.

Also with children in mind, we are pleased to launch a new monthly bit of fun for younger readers - “Find the Bear”. Bert the Teddy Bear is hiding somewhere in this magazine. He is small and brown and loves hiding! If you can find him, email us the page number and we will print the name and age of the first correct boy or girl on this page next month, good luck!

Also this month; a bumper What’s On (p4), local history (p31), Gay’s style page - this month on tops (p28), Phocas the Gardener (p25), a tasty recipe (p20) and our usual prize crossword (p22).

Have a great month, Kris Words of Wit
