he 2011 Evanston Green Living Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sep-
tember 24, at the Evanston Ecology Center, presented by the Evanston Environmental Association and the city of Evanston. In- spired by the rapid growth of renewable energy companies and products for the public, this year’s theme is Alternative Energy—You’ve Got the Power! The Festival will include the ever-
popular Green Market, filled with nearly 100 green energy and other green exhibi- tors; demonstrations of new alternative energy products for commercial and residential uses; a variety of alternative vehicle exhibitors, including an electric automobile; a panel discussion titled The Energy Game—What’s In It for Me? Green youngsters will enjoy a critter corner and readings from green books for children. There will also be a silent auction, featur- ing lots of green products and services to bid on, and all proceeds will go toward benefiting the Evanston Ecology Center.
