Flushing the fear out of the collective conscious
Sydney, 10/8/11: Yet again we have seen a week in which the difference between giving into fear and holding our focus and our space so we do not fall into fear was highlighted. This week it was the stock-market highlighting this. They say the stock market is run by fear and greed, or at least that it is these emotions which make it so volatile.
Why I am talking about the stock market? Because it is a strong reflection of the emotional state of the collective consciousness. The stock market freaked out because of a downgrade of the USA credit rating. Interestingly, this credit downgrade was done by the same people who rated the subprime mortgages as AAA, which led to the global financial crisis. So we could ask why their rating is being taken seriously when other credit ratings have not changed.

Without getting into the politics of it all, it’s important for us to note this one little thing triggered sufficient fear around the globe about the world’s economy that the collective consciousness was gripped by panic.
This is one of the reasons why love is stronger
than fear. We cannot stay freaked out for long periods but we can remain centred in love for long periods, although in the face of strong collective fear it can sometimes be challenging. Perhaps this is one of the lessons for the

collective consciousness in the growing volatility of the world’s economy.
Certainly for ourselves we are learning the
lessons of being centred in love, serenity, joy and inspiration rather than fear. The more of us who succeed in this endeavour the more the collective conscious will begin to stabilise and not be so affected by fear. However, it is likely these kinds of events which serve to flush the fear out of the collective conscious will continue for a while, because as a race humanity seems to be addicted to fear. For each of us it is only another reminder to connect more strongly to love as we choose to have that expand in our lives.
