1st September Tavistock & District Forum Kings Meeting Hall (rear of Pixon Lane Car Park), 2.15pm. Dr John Goodridge will present The Story of the Bedford Cottages. Forum, a social organisation for all retired, but active people from a wide background, meets on the first Thursday of every month (except December), in Kings Hall, at the rear of Pixon Lane Car Park.

1st-4th September Walkhampton Art & Craft Annual Exhibition and Sale Walkhampton Memorial Hall 10am–7pm, except Sunday 11am–4pm The exhibition caters for traditional and modern tastes with a fine array of works in a range of media. Entry is free, with any voluntary donations going to support Children’s Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal. There will also be a Charity Preview evening, with wine and nibbles, in aid of this worthy cause, on Wednesday 31st August from 6.30pm until 8.30pm – all are welcome. Commission from sales at the exhibition helps to fund improvements for Walkhampton Memorial Hall. Good quality home-made refresh- ments will be available and there is plenty of parking space.
