Te lowest common denominator in
church multiplication is the disciple. Te phenomenal growth of Christianity in China has been described as: “Individuals found Jesus, He revolutionized their lives, and as a result, Jesus spread from their lives to the lives of their family and friends.” Before we will ever have a CMM there must
first be a Jesus Movement in our hearts, lives, and churches. Dr. Stephen Gray has said, “Church Multiplication is a spiritual decision of a church to put the needs of a desperate world before self-preservation!” Remember, it can be ignited by one disciple who understands the power of a life totally dedicated to Christ. Is it possible to reach the world? Listen
to what Neal Cole has said: “How long will it take to reach the world through multiplication? If any one Christian alive today were to lead just one person to Christ every year and disciple that person so that he or she would, in turn, do the same next year, it would take about 35 years to reach
the entire world for Christ! Suddenly world transformation seems within our grasp. But it could even be closer than that. If every Christian today were to reproduce in the same way, the world would be won to Christ in the next two to four years.”
Luke 10:2 says, “Terefore said he unto
them, Te harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” A white-hot faith comes from an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as we repent of our sins and recommit our lives to Him. Out of that, a Jesus movement begins because men and women have encountered the living God and have surrendered in loving obedience to Him. Te
Luke 10:2 challenge is to set our cell phone alarms to 10:02 a.m. every day to pray for God to send forth workers who will show and share Jesus with those God has placed in their circle of influence. I’ve accepted that challenge, will you? Te Great Commission can be fulfilled!
Multiplication movements begin as Jesus movements. Te world will be won to Christ when every child of God answers the call to make disciples, not because more men have been “called to preach.” Neal Cole makes it very clear, “Christianity is always just one generation away from extinction. If we fail to reproduce ourselves and pass the torch of life to the
next generation, Christianity will be over in just one generation. Yet, because of the power of multiplication, we are also just one generation away from worldwide fulfillment of the Great Commission—the choice is ours.”
