ONG students will enroll in a

e live in a society that prides itself on having choices—things done “MY WAY!” Our culture promotes this mentality,

restaurants advertise it, and the world entices us to incorporate this ideology into every area of our lives. Tis philosophy is a destructive

fallacy that contradicts Scripture and the purpose for which we were created. In II Corinthians, Paul’s challenge is not to live for ourselves but for Him Who died for us, and that’s the Operation New Generation challenge as well. Operation New Generation (ONG)

is a ministry opportunity for American college-age youth to invest in the lives of Chinese students. Although this ministry vision may sound simple, the process costs dearly. Te motivation Paul set before us is the compelling truth that Christ withheld nothing so that we could partake of eternal life, and in return we are called to lay down our lives that His name may be liſted high. China is the most populous nation on

the globe, hosting one-fiſth of the world’s population, yet it still remains closed to missionary endeavors. China is one of many Creative Access Nations (CAN) throughout Asia, requiring a creative way to access her borders. Te ONG method for extending the Gospel message is living among the people, being salt and light in a dark place that desperately searches for hope.

Beijing university to study the Chinese language. Each day they will rub elbows with Chinese students who understand “Christianity” to be a Western religion. Displaying Christ’s love on a daily basis is not easy when everything around you is unfamiliar, difficult, and opposite to anything we label “normal” in life. But this is where God shines the brightest. When being His hands and voice is beyond our capabilities, we learn to abide in Him. Isn’t that what we were created to do?

Being a university student places the

ONG team among the next generation’s leaders, business entrepreneurs, and law makers. A strategic place, but not without cost! Tis one year commitment demands giving up rights, choices, and surrendering control not only of our lives, but also the outcome. Few are willing to live on the edge, to walk away from family, friends, and everything held familiar, but the challenge remains….we should no longer live for ourselves. Understanding what Christ has done for us constrains us to surrender to His plan, for His glory. Today, God is looking for young people

who are willing to step up to the challenge of participating in a seemingly impossible task….but isn’t that when He gets all the glory? Who’s calling the shots in your life? For

whom are you living? If you would like more information
