This, in turn, sparked an additional $1 trillion in other industries, sup- ported 14 million jobs (7.4 million of which were in the travel industry), and created $188 billion in earnings for Americans employed in U.S. travel. The hospitality and tourism industry is Rochester’s second largest industry, following healthcare and providing the city with 11,928 full-time jobs. Rochester hosts approxi- mately 2.75 million visitors annually. Visitors to Rochester contribute $520 million in total economic impact and more than $325 million in direct visitor spending to the local economy, generating $46 million in tax revenue.
