LENDING LOCAL SUPPORT
The RCVB supports local events that encourage a sense of vibrancy in Rochester. Lending a hand through sponsorship or volunteerism helps support the number of activities available to visitors during their stay as well as promote the vitality of the city to its existing population. Here are a few of the events the RCVB supported in the past year: • Winterfest 1st Annual Sled Challenge • Multiple Sclerosis Tram Across America • Hambone Music Festival • 1st Annual Taste of Rochester • 150th Anniversary Civil War Reenactment • Rochesterfest
VOLUNTOURISM
Connecting incoming conventions with the local community is the goal of volun- tourism, which allows convention members to impact their host city through public activity and service work. Convention organizers work with their services manager at the RCVB to organize this. Rochester’s voluntourism activity includes the International Jugglers’ Association, which performed a show and donated all proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester.
