Matriculation – registering as a student
Matriculation is the process of registering as a student at this University. For undergraduates there are two stages to this process:
Stage 1
As a new student, firstly you have to meet with your Advisor of Studies or programme leader to confirm your course/module choices. At this time your Advisor of Studies will sign your matriculation schedule.
The date and time of this meeting will be given to you by your School.
Stage 2
Go to the Bonar Hall (no. 2 on the campus map) to complete your matriculation. To find out what time you need to attend, please consult our undergraduate matriculation timetable here:
www.dundee.ac.uk/welcome/ugmatric
You must bring with you: • your completed matriculation schedule signed by both you and your Advisor of Studies
• your tuition fee or evidence that part, or all, of your University fees will be paid. That is, a letter from the Student Loans Company (SLC) or from Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) or another sponsor. If you have no final or definite information that fees will paid by SAAS or SLC, you should bring copies of relevant letters of application as proof that application for assistance with fees has been made
• photo ID such as your driving licence or passport
• international students need your passport, visa, CAS statement, Biometric ID (if held)
• examination certificates or notification of results slips
• a passport-sized photograph for your matriculation card if you have not already provided one
See the full list of what to bring at
www.dundee.ac.uk/welcome
After matriculation go to an IT suite and ensure that you are able to log in and access the University’s IT network, including your University email, eVision and My Dundee, our virtual learning enviroment.
Postgraduate matriculation is a bit different…
Report to your School to collect and sign your matriculation schedule at the time and date given to you in your admissions letter. After ensuring fees are paid and registering with School offices, new postgraduate students must come to Bonar Hall (no.2 on the campus map) to matriculate.
To find out what time you need to attend, please consult our postgraduate matriculation timetable here:
www.dundee.ac.uk/welcome/pgmatric
Matriculating late Please read through the matriculation information carefully. If you fail to matriculate on time, unless you have permission from the Student Records Officer, then there is a Late Matriculation Fee of £70. If you think you might need to matriculate late, please email
studentrecords@dundee.ac.uk
Your matriculation card You will receive a University of Dundee matriculation card which is your personal property and should not be used by anyone else. Your matriculation card:
