The University has a varied social and cultural programme for international students and their families throughout the year, such as ceilidhs (Scottish gatherings with traditional dancing and music), cultural evenings, and weekend trips to the Highlands including the Isle of Skye and Loch Ness.

Information for international families
The University of Dundee has various events for international families such as the International Families’ Group Meetings take place on Wednesdays between 10.00 and 13.00 in semester time at the Chaplaincy (no. 31 on the campus map).

Immigration regulations for international students
Monitoring and reporting attendance Due to UK law, institutions such as the University of Dundee must monitor the attendance of non-EU students. The University must report any unauthorised student absences where the student has missed ten expected contacts. If you are absent for any reason, you must inform your School Secretary. Police registration Students from some countries must register with the Police within 7 days of arrival. This is a routine procedure and should only take a few minutes.
Police registration officers will be present at Bonar Hall (no. 2 on campus map) during Welcome Week on Wednesday 14th September 10am – 1pm.
