Before you start… We offer a selection of workshops to help you get started during Welcome Week:
• Gateway to Learning workshops are designed to help you bridge the gap between school and university, and cover topics such as taking lecture notes, dealing with the reading material for your course and writing academic assignments.
• Principles of Postgraduateness is a series of workshops specifically for postgraduate students. The workshops will help you to engage with the advanced academic skills required at this level.

…and after Welcome Week? You can contact the Academic Achievement Teaching Unit (AATU) where academic learning and English language specialists provide help with all aspects of academic skills. They can help with essays, reports, projects and dissertations, exam and study techniques and strategies, as well as English for international students and assistance with maths and numerical work.
AATU’s services are free to all students, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, and across all disciplines.

English Support Programme This is a part-time course (typically three hours per week) aimed at current University of Dundee students whose first language is not English. It runs for ten weeks in each of the two semesters.
Admission is by attendance at a placement test, which will be held at 14.00 on Wednesday 7 September 2011 in IT Suite C in the Tower Building basement (No. 1 on the campus map). The test will be online, so you must have a valid login in order to take it:
