The evening is now being hosted by popular local band The Avatars, a 6 piece fronted by singer Nuala McDermott and fiddle player Karen Higginson. “Our aim is to encourage local talented musicians to perform on a professional stage with incredible sound and lighting facilities.” said Mike Neenan, the band’s lead guitarist and founder member. ”We also want to bring in more varied types of music, and not be limited to just rock and blues”. ‘The Avatars play a wide range of music, from country and rockabilly to Celtic Jigs, 70’s classics and chart hits.
Musicians are welcome to play either on their own or with others, or they’re welcome to come on stage with the Avatars and jam along. So if you enjoy great local music, or want to perform on-stage, come along for an amazing night.
As always, there will be a late bar from 7:00pm.

ROXY MAGIC FRIDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER AT 8PM
Roxy Magic are the UK’s best and longest running tribute to Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry. They recreate, entirely live, material which spans four decades, from futurist/nostalgic art rock, through classic standards to sophisticated adult oriented rock. Their aim is to give the audience a fabulously entertaining evening. Very high quality musicianship and a wonderful Bryan Ferry look and sound alike, in the person of singer Kevin Hackett, combine to do just that.
Roxy Music was one of the first rock groups who created and maintained a carefully crafted look and style, immortalised by the “super-cool” Bryan Ferry, with songs such as ‘Virginia Plain’, ‘Both Ends Burning’, ‘Love is the Drug’, ‘Avalon’, ‘Let’s Stick Together’ and many, many more. Now, ‘Roxy Magic’ recreate all the atmosphere of a ‘live in concert’ performance, in a stunning tribute to Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry. Founder and lead singer, Kevin Hackett so closely resembles Bryan Ferry in looks, voice and mannerisms, that this totally authentic show delivers on every level.
