home and property over four years ago, Franklin says, it took a lot of effort and about eight months to complete the reno- vation, and while the home has been up- dated in many ways, Franklin says it is still like revisiting the “Bud” Vereen original masterpiece. Franklin says he has worked as a general


contractor and developer in 37 states and believes strongly in using the local labor force. According to him, it is an optimal way of putting money back into the com- munity where he does developments.


“I have been truly blessed. “I met a beautiful lady


who has since become my wife, and my company, Larry Franklin Properties, LLC, has seen tremendous growth.


“I brought one of my construction crews


from Florida, but also engaged several local contractors to aid in the effort.” Franklin says he is adamant about giving credit where credit is due. According to Franklin, many of the contractors here that worked on the South Main home have since traveled outside of Colquitt County to do work with him. He says that using local labor is part of a good business policy and that it is wise to highlight the efforts of these local contractors. “Te help I received locally was top
