Collision on Ferry Street Knocks out Power
submitted by Hudson Police Department On August 6, at approximately 1:11 p.m., the Hudson Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle collision on Ferry Street near Second Street. Upon arrival, it was determined a single vehicle had struck a pole at that location. A 2007 Ford Mustang was traveling east on Ferry Street when it crossed the double yellow lines and struck a utility pole on the other side of the roadway. The vehicle was operated by Tyler Hughes, 21, of Hudson. He was attended to on scene by members of the Hudson Fire Department. He declined any additional treatment. The vehicle suffered heavy front end damage and airbag deployment. The utility pole was also damaged. There were reported power outages in the area. PSNH was notified and responded. Utility workers arrived on scene to replace the pole and restore services. A short portion of Ferry Street was closed. A small detour had been set up in the area of Ferry Street at Second Street and Third Street. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

DWI in Collision
submitted by Hudson Police Department On August 6, at approximately 1:06 p.m., Hudson police responded to Derry Street by West Road for a report of a two- vehicle collision. Upon arrival, it was determined a 2009 Mercedes Benz was traveling south on Derry Street approaching the intersection of West Road. Behind the Mercedes, also traveling southbound was a 2002 Nissan Altima. The Mercedes was operated by Lynn Ann Gendreau, 47, of Derry. She was the lone occupant. The Nissan was driven by Mark Taylor, 26, of Nashua. The Nissan was also occupied by Michelle Harris, 23, also of Nashua.. During the investigation, it was determined the Mercedes had come to an abrupt stop at the intersection of Derry Street and West Road at a time when the light governing that lane was red. closely-knit gathering enjoyed a day of golf, a BBQ buffet, and camaraderie. Among the notable supporters were several Bronco hockey players, members of the AHS golf team and Athletic Director Karen Bonney. Proceeds from the event went to the Alvirne Hockey program, but with the costs associated with greens fees and prizes absorbed most of the $125 entry fee, the majority of the funds raised came via a vast amount of items raffled off as well as a silent auction that featured sports memorabilia. Additionally, Mike Pitre, who organized the event, held a special auction for two tickets each to a Bruins and Red Sox game. Trophies and cash were awarded in several categories. Capturing the low net on the day was the foursome referred to as simply, “The Murphy Group.” They tore up the 6,462-yard track with a blistering 14 under par 58, in running away with the trophy. There were five other categories in which cash prizes were awarded: longest drive and closest to the pin. Players were recognized in each of the men’s and women’s divisions. There was also the putting competition on the practice green. Jan Perron and Scott George drove off with the longest drive honors, while Yvettte Dutil and Dan Kingsley picked up closest to the pin honors on holes numbers 2 and 4, respectively. On the practice green, the putting competition ended in a tie, with Dave Brennan and Jack Callahan agreeing to split the winner’s purse.

which was also stopped at the intersection. The call originally came in as a complaint of an erratic operator. The calling party then advised the 9-1-1 the operator that the vehicle in question had struck another vehicle. Damage to both vehicles was minor. Through the continuing investigation, it was determined Gendreau was impaired. She was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI (second offense). Gendreau was attended to on scene by Hudson Fire Department members. She declined any further medical treatment. She was transported to the Hudson Police Department for booking. Her bail was set at $1,500 personal recognizance. She was later released on bail and scheduled to appear at the NH Circuit Court, 9th Circuit, District Division, in Nashua on August 25.
