Our Seasonal Beers

When talking to Clive Ham, our Head Brewer, regarding the Butcombe Seasonal Range, I asked him to be brave. Create a range of beers that are superb in their own style but different enough to be exciting and thought provoking…well done Clive on successfully completing the task!

Available: September, October, November.

This “Dramatically Dark” beer is a complex, satisfying Porter…smooth, rich and distinctive. Available: January, February, March 2013

A clean tasting, refreshing, easy to drink premium bitter. Made using the palest English malt

unmistakeable citrus notes. Available: July, August.

Best Maris Otter is blended with Vienna malt to give the beer a reddish hue. Challenger and Bramling Cross hops are used, the latter delivering a distinctive and fruity blackcurrant fi nish…Season’s

Greetings…Ho, Ho, Ho! Available: December.

The Story of Christmas Steps

Christmas Steps is one of the oldest and most charming parts of Bristol, and an area steeped in history. Nobody can say for sure how the street got its unusual name, but some suggest that it may be derived from the nativity scene found in a stained glass window in the Chapel of the Three Kings of Cologne, which stands at the top of the steps.

These Seasonal Beers can often be enjoyed nationwide through various countywide promotions within organisations such as JD Wetherspoon, Punch Finest Cask, Heineken Cask Orders, Mitchells & Butler Beer Festivals, and wholesalers Waverley TBS.
