Updates Conduct report

While some alleged incidents and situations were investigated, there were no formal hearings or judicial action taken against organizations. This is a direct result of greater trust, improved communication, and an attempt by staff and students to correct issues educationally and through conversation rather than punitively. Great efforts have been made by many of the organizations to comply with policies and the staff has worked at revising policies with more flexibility.

“Nu” Omega Phi

The Omega Phi fraternity underscores the importance of the values of excellence and distinction. Many will remember this group as being founded as a non-traditional organization, with no official rush or orientation. Over the years the organization lost its distinctiveness, straying from these values. The founders and alumni felt no connection to the organization. This year its membership shrunk to an all- time low. With alumni involvement and a small group of students, the organization is being reinvigorated. The most recent members offered to dissolve the organization and shortly thereafter the new group approached Greek Council to rebuild. The Greek Council paved the way for this to happen, the alumni offered involvement, and the University supported the rebirth of this important group.
