APi Brings 325 Golfers to Dickinson August 19, 20 & 21, 2011
Friday begins with a practice day at the golf course, with lunch sponsored
by the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce. Friday evening kicks off the festivities with a Catfish Fry at the Dickinson Rec Center. Over 850 pounds of fresh catfish has been flown in from Lousiana to feed over 2,000 people.
Saturday morning starts off with two flights each day, 7:00 a.m. and 12:30
p.m. Golfers will be able to relax Saturday evening at the Dickinson Rec Center with a banquet and dance to music by K-HOOK from Dickinson.
Sunday morning golf flights resume play at 7:0 0 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and
will conclude with awards being presented at The 19th Hole. The American Petroleum Institute (API) raises approximately $100,000
each year. Dickinson State University Scholarships and other local charities throughout the year receive $25,000.
