Spiritual God is faithful
by Rev. Michael Bryant
We were discussing God’s faithfulness the other day. We were looking at the story of the growing seed as seen in the Gospel of Matthew. We were puzzled by Matthew’s illustration of the tiniest seed growing into a huge tree, the leaven hidden in the fl our and wondered just what that might mean. And in the midst of our musings and meanderings, one of our group spoke up and shared a very familiar story. It turns out he was speaking for many of us in the room.
His story, maybe our story, goes something like this: I was raised in the church. Went to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and I did all the church things as a kid. As I grew up and got married and had a family I got too busy for the church, so I drifted away from church. Later in life I realized that I could not do things on my own anymore

Spirituality Reflections
- I needed a Savior. I turned back to God, looking for help, guidance, protection and comfort, and God was right there - waiting for me. God had been working in the background the whole time without my knowledge. Yes, God is faithful!
Finally it seems to me that if we’re honest with ourselves, we realize that God’s power and presence are under our noses, whether we know it or not. And that the Kingdom of Heaven will grow into something big and wonderful - it’s just up to us to recognize God’s Kingdom in our midst!
I’ll see you in church, the grocery store, in the bike lane, or around town.
