August Family Nights at Tumbleweed Recreation Center


Join in the fun at Family Night at Tumbleweed Recreation Center every Wednesday throughout August from 5:30-7 p.m. There is a different activity each week. Chandler Recreation produces a television show called “Come Out & Play” on Channel 11 that highlights programs, events and facilities. The fall episode features all-ages cooking classes offered at the recreation facilities. Sonoran Sunset Series at Environmental Education Center Starts Sept. 8!


For the third straight year, the Environmental Education Center will host the Sonoran Sunset Series on Thursdays in the fall that feature free live lakeside entertainment by local musicians and performers suitable for all ages. The first one will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 6-7 p.m. The following performances will be Oct. 13, Nov. 10 and Dec. 8. Fall Parent & Toddler Activities at TRC


Parents and toddlers can enjoy a playful morning with “Bounce, Bike & Boogie” at Tumbleweed Recreation Center’s outdoor courtyard on Wednesday, Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 30 from 9-11 a.m. This play area is intended for children five and younger to play under


parental or guardian supervision with a bounce house, tricycles, other toys and music. The TRC also hosts “Bubble Blast” on Wednesday, Oct. 12, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14 from 9-11 a.m. There is a $2 fee per child for both activities ($3 for non-residents). The TRC is located at 745 E. Registration Open for Adult Sports Leagues


Registration is now open for the fall Chandler Adult Sports leagues. Games will begin the week of September 6. Celebrate Chandler Centennial With Your Art!


Are you creative? Do you like to draw? Put your talents to work by entering our Centennial Birthday Card contest right now. Design one of twelve birthday card covers celebrating Chandler’s 100th birthday on May 17, 2012. The contest is open to any student in grades K-12 who lives in Chandler or attends a school within the city limits. Visit

Registration Starts Aug. 6!


The fall Break Time magazine outlining all recreation classes and special events for September through November is now available at many City facilities, libraries and recreation centers and at www.chandleraz.gov/registration.
