WeBeGlee, Glee Minor hold auditions
Young men ages 14 through 19 years are needed
to fi ll the last few available spots in WeBeGlee, an advanced singing and performing group made up of teenagers from all over the Valley who sing in four to six part harmony.
Singers who audition and are accepted receive vocal instruction both as soloists and in a group setting, and work with choreographers and guest instructors. WeBeGlee has performed all over the Valley, at Arizona Cardinals games and in California. Its spring performance tour heads to New York City in 2012.
Auditions are also being held for Glee Minor, a singing and performing group of girls and boys ages 8 through 13 years from all over the Valley. All auditions are held at Wagner Dance and Music, located at 645 N. Gilbert Rd., Suite 162 in Gilbert. To schedule an audition, contact Director Tracie Jones at 602-370-4015 or

AZ Arts
Audition workshops for youth and adults are held Sat., Aug. 13 at Higley Center for the Performing Arts in Gilbert.
The youth workshop for ages 7 to 14 years is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the adult workshop for ages 15 years and older from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The comprehensive sessions discuss monologues, music selection and cuts and movement combinations, as well as choosing the right material, presentation and techniques for greater success. Cost is $45.
Fundraiser for Copperstar
HCPA also hosts Copperstar Repertory’s annual gala fundraiser at 7 p.m. Sat., Aug. 20, where individuals and corporations will be honored with the Community STARS Awards.
The evening features a special performance of “Broadway Buddies” and a sneak peek at the 2011- 12 Copperstar season. Proceeds from the event support Copperstar’s education and outreach programs as well as its four main-stage productions.

Area families can enjoy the talents of the Great Arizona Puppet Theater without traveling all the way to central Phoenix when the troupe performs “Big Bug Circus” Oct. 8 and “Jack Rabbit and the Desert Tortoise” April 28, 2012.
Copperstar Repertory Company performs “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Annie,” “The King and I” and “Seussical the Musical” throughout the season, and three-time Grammy Award-winning musician Tom Chapin takes the stage March 3, 2012 with his Building Bridges Family Concert.
HCPA also presents the First Annual Gilbert Folk Festival on three stages during Gilbert Days on Nov. 18 and 19; Dolan Ellis and Marshall Trimble on Nov. 19; and Wyatt Earp, the great-nephew of the legendary lawman, takes the stage Feb. 7, 2012. To kick off Global Village Week, the Pangean Orchestra performs April 14, 2012.
The HCPA Advisory Council’s annual fundraiser, “Murder at the HCPA,” features “Murder at Greystone Manor” Oct. 1. Audience members are given an identity as they enter the world of 1920s Hollywood and enjoy dinner from Carrabba’s during the interactive murdery mystery on the Concert Hall stage. Funds raised help provide more than 18,000 East Valley children with school day performances at little or no cost during the season. Higley Center for the Performing Arts is located at 4132 E.
