FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Every year we prepare for the “Top 101 Things to Do in

SWFL” issue by revisiting the prior year’s list. Inevitably, there are updates, but this year the list was turned upside-down. The sheer number of shuttered businesses, across all industries, would be discouraging if it weren’t for all the new concepts that have sprung up in their places. Like the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes, Southwest

Florida is experiencing a cycle of new life. However, this time around we are all a little wiser, a lot stronger, and more creative. Settling for average is no longer an option for local enterprises – and that’s good news for the consumer! Now is the time to log off Facebook, venture out of the air

conditioning, and take advantage of all the unique activities this area has to offer – day and night! Websites like www.PartySWFL. com and of course, www.PulseMagazineNaples.com, not only prove that there is a lot to do here, but also put the inside info at your fingertips. At the end of the day, this issue of Pulse represents the core of our mission… to uncover the people, places and events that inspire, motivate and entertain. A special thanks to our advertisers who make each issue

possible and to everyone who contributes their talents to Pulse Magazine SWFL. August-Sept 2011 has a new look thanks to Creative Director, Fredy Hernández – and so the evolution continues!
