SHOW PREVIEW NYIGF

NYIGF gets a gourmet twist

NYIGF

We preview the Tabletop offering at the forthcoming New York International Gift Fair as the show this year adopts its sister show, Gourmet Housewares on site this August

Going Gourmet

NYIGF is soon upon us, but this edition will see some exiting new developments on site at the Jacob K. Javits Convention center. The main change is the welcome addition of the Gourmet Housewares Show to the already popular gift show. As part of the repositioning of the Gourmet Housewares Show to run alongside NYIGF, some 150 high-end gourmet products suppliers will be showcased on the Javits Center’s Level 3 exhibit fl oor, between NYIGF’s Accent on Design and Tabletop divisions. The addition comes under Phase Two of the NYIGF’s three-year restructure programme. “Not only will the Gourmet Housewares Show

introduce a number of well-established gourmet products suppliers to the New York Market, it also will draw on resources from other NYIGF divisions,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “This will form a key concentration of kitchenware resources for retailers, and will create unparalleled cross- selling opportunities for gourmet suppliers seeking access to 35,000 home, lifestyle and gift buyers who attend NYIGF.” To date, more than 100 companies have indicated their interest in participating in the summer 2011 launch) This includes a number of leading gourmet product suppliers already exhibiting at NYIGF, such as Bambu, Bella Cucina, DKB/ Zyliss, Harold Imports, JK Adams, Joseph Joseph, Lush Life, Picnic at Ascot, Tea Forte, William Bounds and Wilshire Industries, as well as early commitments from key newcomers to the New York market. The Gourmet Housewares Show will be located immediately adjacent to NYIGF’s Accent on Design, offering synergistic access to complementary design-focused suppliers,

Since its inception in 1975, the Gourmet Housewares Show has provided a professional marketplace for the gourmet products and upscale housewares industries, offering a

All part of the three-year plan The addition of the sister show in site is just one aspect to the ‘Focus Forward 2013’ scheme, the NYIGF continues to transform and strategically reorganize to become the defi ning marketplace for fashion-forward, design-driven home, gift and lifestyle resources. will exponentially increase and complement the breadth and depth of resources for buyers, and a series of enhancements to other divisions will dramatically facilitate sourcing and shopping for buyers.”
