A
BRIGHTON DANCE WEEKEND With Brighton Pride taking place this month, the team at Aeon (who run Wild Fruit and other top South Coast nights) have organised a whole selection of massive parties as part of its second ‘Gay Dance Weekend’. The Aeon weekend kicks off with a Gaydar Pride/ Gay Dance weekend Welcome Party at Audio on Friday 12 August. Making the most of the evening summer sunshine, the event will run from 6pm till 3am. If you’ve still never had the pleasure of visiting Audio, it’s one of Brighton’s best venues – with its own sun terrace offering great views of the city’s seafront! DJs will include Lil Alex, Hollie and Kate Wildblood playing the best in club anthems and pop classics. The action returns to Audio on Saturday 13 August with a ‘Pride Terrace party’. Mindful of the fact that admission to the Pride festival in Preston Park is a ticketed affair, and that not everyone will want to pay for a ticket, this Wild Fruit party will run from 3-11pm. Expect a giant, ‘al fresco mirror ball’, go-go studs, lasers and live PAs. As long as the weather stays good, there will also be a barbeque before 6pm. It will be followed by a Wild Fruit Post-Pride party within Audio from 10pm till 5am. DJs inside the club will include Seamus Haji, Guy Williams and Neil Duffie, while on the terrace you’ll find Fat Tony, Kate Wildblood and Fredi Dimanche. Early bird tickets are available from
aeonevents.co.uk Also returning on Saturday 13 August will be Club Shame. The night first started back in 1986, laying down a blue-print for late-night gay clubbing. ‘Shame on Pride’ will take place at Digital (formerly the Zap), Kings Road Arches, Brighton, from 10pm till 5am. Expect a retro room playing the original Club Shame soundtrack as well as the main room offering contemporary house. DJs will include HiFi Sean, Paul Heron and Mr Haywood, while there will be a live PA from Kym Mazelle (pictured). Again, early bird tickets are available from
aeonevents.co.uk If that were not enough for you, other parties taking place as part of the Big Dance Weekend include the Beyond Brighton Pride Pool Party on Sunday 14 August at the Honeyclub (Kings Road Arches) from 3.30am in the morning until late. DJs will include Gonzalo Rivas, Mikey D and Jonny M, alongside Fat Tony and HiFi Sean. Also on the Sunday will be a 12-hour Sunday Sundae ‘Mirror Ball Party’ at Audio from 3pm till 3am, featuring special guest Thomas Gandey. The weekend concludes with a ‘Rebel Pride Afterhours’ at Digital, from 2.30am till late on the morning of Monday 15 August. Full details:
