WI Report: The ladies WI was held on Thursday, 14th July in the Methodist Chapel. The meeting was well attended. Our speaker was Mr Les Howe. He is a silversmith and he brought many of his beautiful pieces to show us. Mr Howe is a very clever and talented man and his talk was very interesting and also very amusing. He is an excellent speaker and kept us well entertained. One of our ladies, Mrs Doris Broadberry, was presented with a cake as she is 90 years old, and for those who can remember, she was the sister of Maurice Downs who had the token shop for many years. Our Saltburn in Bloom lunch went very well: a big thank you to all the helpers. The lunch went very well as usual and was enjoyed by all. A thank you letter was read out. There is no WI in August, but our Craft and Produce Fair will be held on August 20th.
