Once you receive your approved CITES export form you need to make an appointment for the kitten to be examined at a ‗designated port‘ of the US Fish and Wildlife Service and be cleared prior to re- leasing it for export. This port is that last point of stop for your kitten before entering Canada. If a flight is being arranged you will need to ensure that the kitten is landing at a designated port before entering Canada or the kitten will be refused entry when it lands on Canadian soil. The list of desig- nated ports is listed below. You will need to contact the office 5 business days before the kitten is due to arrive to make an appointment. The appointment is approximately $201 US but if your kitten can- not be at the office during regular business hours the price goes up as you will be charged overtime for an officer to come in.
