“Thumbs down to the backyard pyrotechnics on Colonial Dr. Three nights of our holiday weekend ruined by your fireworks. There are fireworks every night of the weekend, somewhere in the state. Go & enjoy, keep our neighborhood quiet.”

“Thumbs down to the ‘thumbs down’ in the

July 1 edition. The path in Litchfield was built for all to enjoy. I ride my bike on the path with my grandchildren. The path is a safe place for all of us to enjoy riding. Not all bikers are dangerous. Bikers should not be forced to the street just so you can walk.”

“Thumbs up to Jeanne Shaheen and her continued support to raise awareness of how difficult it is to live with type 1 diabetes and for her conviction that we need to find a cure and invest in diabetes research. As a volunteer for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), I appreciate her support!!”

“Thumbs up to Governor Lynch and President Obama. You are doing a great job!! So glad I voted for you!! You both are intelligent, thoughtful men. Thanks for your commitment to the residents of NH and the citizens of the United States!!”

“Thumbs down to the Casey Anthony trial;

what a bad verdict and now she’ll make millions off of her actions from Hollywood. There is something very wrong with this country’s judicial system. You know darn well that if Casey were a man, he’d be found guilty in a heartbeat.”

“Thumbs down to the town workers who go

to the Federal St. Pumping Station, and rather than do their jobs, just sit there. In the winter time, they leave their trucks running for at least 1/2 an hour while they are inside—shame on them for not respecting others by not only wasting the taxpayers’ money, as well as playing the town for a fool.”

“Thumbs up to everyone who helped bring

Big Truck Day to the town of Hudson!” “Thumbs down, glad you can sleep at night.

Ignorance really is your bliss. Enjoy the two- way social gossip and lies, just please watch what you say to others. You really have no idea. OR I have been terribly duped and NEED enlightenment, PLEASE. For now, I am also sleeping fine. Knowing the truth helps me through each vicious encounter.”

Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”

“Thumbs up to Editor- in-Chief Len Lathrop for keeping the people of Hudson informed and clarifying issues with honesty. It is a welcoming breath of fresh air. Thank you.”

“Thumbs down to the REC center for not having Robinson Ponds gates open at 10:30am ... It’s summer time ... Get with the program...”

“Thumbs up to Campbell

for 5 championship banners this past school year. Great job!”

“Thumbs down to the house at the intersection of P & T in Litchfield; your house is an eyesore. Old cars, boats, and campers are all over the place. Did you ever think of cutting your grass? Interesting touch removing the front steps off of your house; it sends a subliminal ‘Go Away’ message. Oh, by the way—you can shut the shades on your windows at night; the neighborhood doesn’t need to see people walking around in their underwear. Have a nice summer.”

“Thumbs down to the postal employee at the Hudson post office. After measuring, weighing and attempting to see through my envelope, why didn’t you x-ray the birthday card? Maybe if you stopped your incessant yakking, the line would move faster and you wouldn’t be looked on as a small, vindictive tyrant with a broom.”

“Thumbs down to the part-timer town administrator. $91,000 for part time, no wonder the system is messed up. Thanks a lot.”

“Thumbs down to Campbell Football Team for their weekend practices. I really appreciate all the hard work of the coaches, they do a great

one person controlling, short-tempered, or overly self-involved? If so, divorce is in the offing. The worst time for divorce is when there are children, as typically the father will be removed from their lives, destroying any hope of normalcy despite ‘official statistics.’”

“Thumbs up to Slumdog Willey for leaving the park and going camping in his rolling hut and giving us all a vacation break!”

“Thumbs down to the using the CHS track as a political football. How many more years of studies, meetings and nit-picky stalling tactics do we have to put up with? The taxpayers trusted you to maintain our assets and you’ve failed miserably. Enough already. Get it fixed.”

“Thumbs up to whomever returned my wallet to the Staples store in Londonderry. You made a nice day for me out of what could have been a dreadful day.”

“Thumbs down. This is for the owner of the barking dogs on Tamarack St. in Hudson. Please do something about your barking dogs. Tonight (Sun), they barked from around 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. If you can’t take care of them, give them to someone that will. After 3-4 years of barking, enough is enough. Our next step will be to contact the Animal Control Officer. There is a law about barking dogs.”

“Thumbs down to ‘camera,’ I saw you shoplifting from the self-checkout at Hannaford! I even took a picture of you with my cellphone camera in the parking lot so they can keep their eye on you! You looked to be in Nurse clothes, you should be ashamed of yourself; we are all in hard times, but are still paying our way! Keep it up—you will be caught!”

“Thumbs down to the recreation program this summer. Not opening on time, rude counselors, counselors sitting down who are not interacting with the kids, poor management of behavior and activities, field trips that have population limits so all kids can’t go, making kids leave their lunches outside in the heat all day, forcing children to stay outside in extreme heat so you all can clean, flying basketballs which nearly knock people out when they walk by, and junk food and drinks to make the kids sugared up and fat. The worst—making all the children sit on the dirty REC floor to eat their lunches and the kids are not even told to wash their hands...ewwww! Who manages this program and place; what considerations are made for the health, cleanliness, and welfare of the children? Not to mention the sheer lack of structure and guidance; my kid is just another number and extra money in the town’s pocket. Time to clean up the REC program; it is a warehouse of children in sheer, partially managed chaos.”

“Thumbs down to the ice cream truck driver reading a newspaper while driving a vehicle that sends small children flocking towards it!!”

“Thumbs down. Here we go again about

job. But why do you have the kids practicing and scrimmaging every single weekend from now until September? This destroys a lot of weekend family get-togethers and events. Get real, have practices during the weekdays and let the kids and their families enjoy the weekend!”

“Thumbs up to the great new trail at Robinson Pond. What a great job!”

“Thumbs down to President Obama’s use of scare tactics to make Senior Citizens believe that failure to increase the US Debt Limit will stop their Social Security Checks and Medicare Payments. That is completely untrue, Mr. President, and also very mean-spirited. Not a penny will be stopped to pay Social Security Checks or make Medicare payments. I made the mistake of voting for you in 2008, President Obama; I will NOT make the same mistake in 2012.”

“Thumbs up to Hudson Moms who

discourage their children from marriage. Over 50% of marriages fail and the #1 reason is the immaturity of the couple. If you look, you can see if the couple will make it or not. Is

bikers. Bikes, slow as they are, legally operate on roads like any other vehicle. Cars are not forced to cross yellow lines to pass unless they have room. There need be no risk for collision. It takes little effort to slow down. Furthermore, bikes cannot just ‘get off the road’ unless there is a shoulder or sufficient room to do it safely. It is apparent that the chronic complainers about bikers do not ride and haven’t since they were children if at all. Maybe they should.”

“Thumbs up to the beautiful new trail at Robinson Pond! A pleasure to walk and the benches are each in a nice spot...great job!”

Katie, for making Highest Honors on the Dean’s List at UNH for the 2011 spring semester. We are so proud of you! Love, Mom and Dad”

“Thumbs down to the voters of Hudson. Tenure in office can only cause arrogance of power, hiring an ex-officer at $82,000. Quoting chairman BOS Hudson, ‘he was hired to clean the town,’ given title assistant town administrator. Get the picture? Secret policing, legal notices, lawsuits, liens on property, and fines; do we have to wait until March 2012 to correct this? You could be next. React!!”

“Thumbs up to fire extinguishers. I was barbequing on my deck when the grill exploded into flames and black smoke. I panicked, but remembered I had purchased a small extinguisher for the pellet stove in the basement. I ran down and ripped it off the wall and the 20 seconds it spewed was enough to get the fire under control. I learned a valuable lesson: never grill without having a fire extinguisher handy. Do not buy the cheapest unit. It saved my home. I respect and appreciate our fire department, but only wish to see them in parades and their annual open house.”

“Thumbs up to the Hudson

NH Fire Department for coming to our condo Friday night after we called when our carbon monoxide alarm was going off. It turned out to be a false alarm, but the firefighters who came

were very polite and very helpful. I apologized for wasting their time because it turned out to not be an emergency. They responded by saying that this is their job and they are always there when they are needed. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the firefighters who risk their lives and answer the call every day, no matter how small the emergency may be.”

“Thumbs up to the tenant! Her zany and insane antics at the Hollow are always a source of amusement to us all. It is little wonder why she’s considered the community psycho clown, considering her preposterous stories and lunatic theories. With every newsletter, she manages to find an underlying conspiracy of corruption. Of course, there is no evidence or supporting facts. That’s because in her world, the sky is green and vegetables talk to her.”

“Thumbs down to the driver whose idea of

sharing the road is for bicyclists to get off of it so the driver doesn’t have to slow down to pass if there is oncoming traffic. The fact of the matter is New Hampshire state law 265:143-a requires motor vehicles to give bicyclists 3 feet of room when passing at 30 miles per hour or less, with one additional foot of clearance required for every 10 miles per hour above 30 miles per hour. That means slow down and wait till you have room to pass. Share the road – give 3 feet – it is the law.”

“Thumbs up! To the good Samaritans at II Nasty Choppers! They pushed my car, tried to fix it, but we ended up getting rid of the old and they will help me find a *new* thank you for being honest and fair and helping me when I need it most! You all rock there!”
