Bolero From a manufacturer that’s been building budget jeeps for over 60 years, the Bolero is a real basic workhorse, so it has to be the business. It has the smallest turbodiesel (2,5-litre) in this group that puts out 74 kW at 4 150 r/min and 245 N.m of torque. It also has the smallest fuel tank (57 litres). The three years/75 000 km service plan is backed up by 30 dealerships. We’ve heard stories of surprising toughness from owners.

Scorpio Despite the Scorpio only looking slightly more upmarket than its Bolero sibling, it is significantly closer to the established players in this market due to a raft of standard features, as well as ABS assistance and two airbags. The turbodiesel engine is slightly bigger than the Bolero's, but it produces the same power at just 3 800 r/min and more torque
