Westfield has started consultation on its planned mixed-use extension to Westfield London. The plans will enhance the
existing retail offer with the provision of new shops including a department store, cafés and restaurants in the landscaped public spaces and 1,700 new affordable homes. It will also have new leisure and community uses. Part of the site will form a
new street interspersed with civic spaces linking under the viaduct arches to White City Green, the major new public open space to the north. Duncan Bower, director
of development and asset management at Westfield, said: “This project will form a pivotal link between White City and Shepherd’s Bush while creating over 2,500 jobs for local people. By bridging over the road network, the proposals will help to transform the area into a pedestrianised quarter where people will have clear and attractive walking routes both east/west to the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and north/south.”

public perception, the youngest shoppers are the most critical of anti-social behaviour. More than 4 out of 5 want to ban perpetrators from shopping centres, against just two thirds of shoppers aged over 55.
