DICKINSON 25th

IN THE FLESH TATTOOS - Celebrates 9th Anniversary in July In the Flesh Tattoos began in late July of 2002. Crystal and Joey

Fahlsing opened the shop with Crystal as the only tattoo artist and Joey running the shop and doing art work for many of the tattoos. Within six months Joey completed his piercing apprenticeship and became the shops full time piercer while also pursuing his tattoo apprenticeship under Crystal’s guidance. Joey has since trained a few piercers with one person going on to secure employment out of state with the education she received. In The Flesh plans to train in a tattoo apprentice in the near future; it’s an addition to a family not just a job so finding the right person is very important. In The Flesh recently moved to their new location on Villard Street in

the western half of the Hedahl’s building. The move has been a much needed positive step forward. With the added floor space, we have added a novelty shop run by Erin Fahlsing under Wicked E’s Tee’s and Sleeve’s. Erin offers a wide variety of custom printed T-shirts, tattoo related items such as cozies and lighters, vintage style music posters and much more, including an expanded collection of body jewelry. The procedure rooms offer a comfortable roomy atmosphere and the shop has a comfortable waiting area as well. The shop has been busier than ever, being Dickinson’s longest running

tattoo shop. In The Flesh has quite a large clientele and new clients walk in everyday. Kirk Peterson continues to operate under BassAckwards Studios within the In The Flesh family. Without him our waiting list would be even longer. Between the three artists, we are currently averaging around 8-12 tattoos a day. We generally work by appointment however will certainly accommodate walk-ins, if able. We pride ourselves on being

mainly a custom shop; each person’s tattoo should be as individual as they are. Many tattoos are drawn on clients to insure perfect placement as that is a key factor to a good tattoo. Many of our shop’s new clients are from the college or influx of out-of-state workers. At last count, we’ve tattooed people from over 40 states and 20 countries. That’s one of the most beautiful things about our art, is seeing it walk out the door for the world to see. Crystal and Joey take great pride in everything they do, from

scheduling appointments to the completion of the procedure; every step is done with care and professionalism. Every tattoo and piercing has the potential to be life changing and we want that experience to be a positive one with nothing but good memories. In The Flesh will be celebrating their 10th anniversary next July and

have a few things planned including a customer appreciation event. Be sure to friend us on Facebook so you don’t miss anything. We also want to extend a big thank you to the Dickinson community for supporting us the past nine years and making every day better than the last. We wouldn’t be where we are without so many amazing people wearing our work. The people and their stories are really what make this job special and we look forward to many more years of tattooing and piercing the community. So again, thank you to everyone who believed in us and supported us these past nine years. We won’t let you down. In The Flesh is located at 225 East Villard. Call for an appointment.

We do schedule appointments outside business hours; just speak to an artist. Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 6 pm. Call 701- 483-4657
