Is the trip you are about to take adding stress to your life? Do you feel the tension in your muscles as you are sitting there waiting for your flight to be called? Our lives get busy with other priorities and we forget to take care of ourselves, but it’s never too late to get back on track! It is my job to find out where and why you are holding that tension so that I can help you work the kinks out!


Allow me to introduce myself.


My name is Ross and my body used to be full of stress and tension which was causing debilitating


pain. I love sports and I played hockey, football and baseball with devoted enthusiasm. This resulted in numerous concussions, separated shoulders, broken noses and 11 knee surgeries. I did not think that anyone could possibly be in more pain than I was in. Traditional medicine offered me Tylenol 3 with codeine which was not a solution. I finally ended up in the Victoria Pain Clinic, which introduced me to a smorgasbord of alternative modalities to manage chronic pain. What I learned there is what brought me to where I am today, pain free, and helping others to experience the same. My business is called Body-Wize.

BODY-WIZE STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION IS YOUR #1


Body-Wize is a combination of four modalities woven together to produce fluidity in movement, precision in alignment, and clarity of thinking. I work on your body for eleven sessions that are ninety minutes long. My intention is to teach the body to work as an integrated unit, rather than the sum of isolated parts. Let’s start with “Hellerwork”. It is a modality that physically addresses the fascial (soft tissue) system of your body. Fascia wraps all of your muscle tissue and your organs. If this isn’t balanced, muscles are unable to move in their full range of motion. Have you ever experienced back pain? It is almost an epidemic within our society. Over 90% of those experiencing back pain will have a lack of range of motion of the ankles and/or imbalance of their lower leg muscular development. Hellerwork is a powerful system of body, mind and movement work designed to ergonomically align the body with gravity so our systems will work to their optimum.


Next is “Pilates”. I’m sure you have heard of this one. Pilates is known as a diaphragmatic exercise program. This simply means that all movement should be initiated with your diaphragm. For example: Were you aware that when


your buttocks are flexed, that directly restricts the range of motion of your diaphragm? The diaphragm happens to be one of your core muscles, and if it is restricted so is your breathing. Pilates co-ordinates breath with movement, which lengthens and strengthens muscles from the core, greatly improving flexibility.


“Vibration” technology dates back to the Space Race of the 1960’s. It has been scientifically proven to increase bone density and circulation, improve muscle tone and lymphatic drainage, and breaks down scar tissue.


“Energy Work” is a therapy that initiates healing and well-being, by improving concentration and reducing fatigue.
