Meeting Yields Sponsorship Surprise

Having no recollection of volunteering for the committee, my first thought upon receiving notice of my appointment was that I had no idea what the Marketing Committee did. As it turns out, the marketing committee administers MTLA’s corporate sponsorship and affinity partner programs.


Committee Purpose The committee markets MTLA to potential sponsors. This is an important revenue stream for our organization. Sponsors are generally corporations, vendors or other groups that wish to market themselves to trial lawyers.


Sponsorship Levels There are four sponsorship levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Sponsors make a contribution that corresponds to a particular sponsorship level. Sponsorship benefits include advertisements in the Trial Reporter, listings in the MTLA Membership Directory, acknowledgment in the monthly BLAST, and attendance at MTLA events.


Sponsor Appreciation Please help us show appreciation to our sponsors. Take a look at the list of sponsors the next time you are on MTLA’s website (www.mdtriallawyers.com). Several MTLA sponsors are vendors I already use. The next time you call for a medical consultation, a court reporter or a process server, let your vendor know you are a MTLA member and you use them because they do a great job, but also because they support our efforts on behalf of Maryland families.


If you are considering a new computer system, a deposition videographer, a brief printer or any number of other services our sponsors provide, please consider our sponsors before making a decision. If you use a sponsor, let them know why. Please join us in being visible to those who sponsor our organization.


Marketing Survey You may remember receiving a survey from the Marketing Committee. Please complete the survey and return it to us. We want to show our strength and the value of our sponsorship program. A few minutes of your time will help us better present ourselves to proposed sponsors. We value your assistance in getting the most out of our sponsorship program!


Lessons Learned By getting involved with MTLA, as in my case (indirectly), you find that membership to this organization yields many surprises. I encourage you to use our sponsors and when doing so, tell them that you are using them because they support our organization.
