Pedalmania is led by brilliant Hammond organist, Jean-Paul Gard, who is joined by Gethin Jones (drums) and Alex Hutchings (guitar). The band will be featuring numbers from George Benson’s cookbook.
Lee Gibson is a ‘jazz vocal sensation’ (The Independent). A nationally and internationally acclaimed singer who has delighted critics and fans alike with her wonderful voice, innate sense of swing and dynamic stage presence. ‘She is that rarity, a swinging singer who has also reached the highest standards of musicianship’ (Time Out). Lee has appeared at The Barbican, The Purcell Room, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Fairfi elds Hall, Ronnie Scott’s (both London and Birmingham), and has performed
seven seasons at Pizza on the Park along with all the major jazz venues throughout the UK and Europe. Festival appearances in the UK include Appleby, Ealing, London, Birmingham, Wigan, Marlborough, Bude, Edinburgh, Dundee, Newbury, Cork, Preston and the Isle of Man. Lee has also performed at festivals in France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Holland. In 1998, a return visit saw her headlining the Manly Jazz Festival in Sydney, Australia and in 2001, she represented the UK at the Latvian Jazz Festival in Riga.
Latin Perspective, formerly Cubanita, is a sensational Latin and salsa band that features great brass and percussion to bring a taste of Rio to Swansea!
Britain has ever produced, and one of the fi nest in the world today’ (Dave Gelly, ‘The Giants Of Jazz’, Aurum Press, 1986). He has been a major infl uence on the British jazz scene ever since he played (at the age of eighteen!) at the opening of Ronnie Scott’s Club, London’s internationally famous Jazz Mecca.
The month of August concludes with Berry Ray’s Bank Holiday Guest Night. Berry takes centre stage for the night. He will be playing the sax and singing in his Louis Armstrong-style voice. Expect some surprise guests also!
