Church offers ‘preview’ services A preview service to introduce the
neighborhood to Jacob’s Well United Methodist Church will be at 10:30 a.m. Sun., July 31 at the new church, located at 260 S. Arizona Ave., north of Frye Road in Chandler. Founding Pastor Rev. Jay Cooper says people are welcome to bring backpacks and school supplies that will then be donated to area kids.
“We are a brand new faith community here in Chandler, and it’s important to us to be engaged in the community from the very beginning,” Cooper says, adding that he hopes the church will be a refreshing alternative to the congregation. “Many people avoid churches because of bad experiences they have had with Christianity in the past. Jacob’s Well hopes to be an inviting and inclusive place for people like this.” The monthly preview services will be on the last Sundays of July, August, September and October. Childcare will be provided. Jacob’s Well plans to open offi cially in December. For details, visit
www.churchremix.org or email Cooper at
jay@jacobswellumc.org.
