Opening Session Spalding Dining Center Breakout Sessions (will receive times & locations at registration)


Tech Savvy for SCC Students—learn the basics of SCC e-mail, navigating the website, Sakaii, and e2campus text alert system; locate computer labs and hotspots on campus—essentials for success in the college environment


Library Orientation—an introduction to this essential academic resource and overview of library resources and services


“In the Know” Nuts & Bolts of Academics—an overview of the academic basics and introduction to two essential reference sources for students, the College Catalog and the Student Handbook


12:15 - 1:30 p.m. Lunch & Faculty Mixer


Take the opportunity to get to know your faculty outside the classroom environment. Commuter students are welcome to be our guests for lunch--must RSVP by August 8


1:30-2:45 p.m. Freshman Read—Book Groups Spalding


First session of the Freshman Read Dining Center program. Students will meet up with group leaders in the Dining Center and spread out to locations across campus for a discussion of the first portion of “Eli the Good.”

Freshman Induction Ceremony


& Welcome Prayer Student-led ceremony to officially induct the new students into the SCC student body; signing of the Matriculation Book with President Huston; followed by a special introduction to SCC as a faith- based institution with communal prayer and music for SCC students of all faith traditions


Commuter Appreciation Dinner Spalding Student Center & Mixer Dinner & mixer especially designed to help commuters get to know each other! Must RSVP in advance, see RSVP form.

& Mixer—”Blizzard of Bucks” Come and join us for America’s #1 campus game show that allows audience members to compete for cash prizes! We’ll also have munchies, music, mingling, and more at our first student event of the year! **Kid-friendly event—spouses & children of adult students welcome!
