innovations different

to be tries

Home Secretary and Maidenhead MP Theresa May offi- cially opened a new restaurant in Maidenhead’s Bridge Street recently. Innovations, which once fully completed is expected to be the town’s largest restaurant with seating for 500 diners, is on the site of the former Royal British Legion building and occupies three storeys.

The owners Abdush Siddiqui, Bazkuh Haque and Abdul Hannan have spent more than £500,000 refurbishing the venue, including bringing in 20 marble tables from Pakistan, and celebrated the opening by inviting about 50 guests to a special launch party. VIPs included the Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Luftur Rahman and the deputy mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Ashgar Majeed.

Work on the project is still ongoing and future plans include the addition of a rooftop garden and conservatory. The building was in poor condition before the investment and it is now said to be one of the best in the street. Mr Hannan says, “Anybody who’s been here before we took over would be witness to the state the building was in. We just destroyed the whole thing and did it up as a new building.”

He admits it is an ambitious project, creating a restau- rant of such a size. However he says he is confident that Innovations will be able to fill its capacity.
