News & Views Slumdog restaurant set to be sold on?

It has been reported that Charan Gill is looking to sell on Slumdog, his Glasgow curry venture, and has struck a man- agement agreement that includes an option to buy with the Kama Sutra restaurant chain. The latter is run by Scottish Ethnic Minority Achievements Businesswoman of the Year Asha Bain.

Charan Gill, who built up the well- known Ashoka chain of Indian restau- rants, left the Glasgow curry scene when he sold the parent Harlequin Leisure Group to Ms Bains’ brother- in law, Sanjay Majhu, for £8 million in 2006. But three years later he opened Slumdog, where special features have included stand-up comedy.

Fenugreek, a herb used in curries may be able to give a boost to flag- ging libido. A recent study carried out in Australia found that it increased the male sex drive by at least a quarter. Fenugreek seeds contain compounds called saponins and it is thought these stimulate male sex hormones including testosterone.

In the study, sixty men aged between 25 and 52 took fenugreek extract twice a day for six weeks. Within that time, the level of sexual arousal jumped by an average of 28 per cent.
