FRANÇAIS Le club Likuid a ouvert à Hong-Kong ses portes au mois de février de
cette année. Il est situé au coeur du très vivant quartier Lan Kwai Fung (LKF). La créatrice du club Rachel Geicke a pris soin de garder en tête l’ambiance de la vie nocturne de LKF, et en même temps de créer une nouvelle expérience pour les personnes qui sortent en club. C’est quelque chose de tout à fait commun, pour les espaces de divertissement, de Hong-Kong, d’avoir des plafonds bas et un espace au sol limité. Ceci a d’abord posé un problème parce que le club a exigé une chaîne haute fidélité puissante pour satisfaire les DJS internationaux qui serait invité à y jouer. La solution a été d’installer un sound système haute fidélité K-Array Kobra Line. Ce système a rencontré le désir de Rachel d’une qualité de son superbe, et les haut-parleurs étaient aussi assez petits pour remplir la mission de discrétion à l’intérieur qu’elle souhaitait. Marc Vincent de Sennheiser Chine a été responsable de la conception audio, et Rachel a été extrêmement satisfaite par les résultats. La mise en place lumineuse, frappante, comprend 72 lasers verts unique qui créent un effet de “pluie laser”. Ceci est accompagné d’une sélection d’accessoires d’éclairage plus conventionnels et de trois murs de LED Leyard. Rachel nourrit de grandes espérances pour Likuid et, ayant équipé ce lieu en conséquence, elle pourrait bien atteindre son objectif.
The façade
is an 8mm picture LED wall measuring four metres by two metres. These are generally used to deliver information to the customers and for promotions. Outdoors, a three metre by 2.5 metre LED wall has been installed for similar purposes.
Returning inside, Dean explained what he selected for the main lighting rig. He said: “We have eight LED moving heads, four wizards that I used upside down so they could roll over the ceiling, as most other lights all go down, plus four butterflies. I also used 10 LED ball style colour washers. I put these on the walls not the ceiling, again to make them look and act different. They are like headlights.” All the lighting fixtures were sourced locally. To achieve the greatest results from a project that required superior design and state-of-the-art technology, a certain level of trust and belief was necessary. When designers are given the freedom to create a venue in their own way, it often produces the best possible outcome.
This was the case for Likuid, and Dean thanked a number of people who made this happen: “Ravi the GM really backed me up from the get go and stood by me and all my wacky ideas. Rachel trusted, supported and believed it would turn out all right in the end. And thanks to my team; Awai, Martin, Parksy. And of course Marc from Sennheiser, the service has been totally unreal.” Rachel has great expectations for Likuid and having kitted out the venue accordingly she could be well on her way to achieving her goal. Dean concluded: “Likuid is a pure club experience. Leave your concepts at the door and have a good time, its made for pleasure. As they say, good things come in small sizes.”
The lounge area
DEUTSCH Der Likuid Club in Hongkong hat letzten Februar seine Tore geöffnet.
Er liegt mitten im vibrierenden Lan Kwai Fung (LKF) Bezirk. Die Clubgründerin Rachel Geicke war eifrig bemüht, die LKF Nightlife Szene im Auge zu behalten und gleichzeitig eine neue Erfahrung für Clubber zu schaffen. Es ist recht gebräuchlich für Entertainmentbreiche in Hongkong, niedrige und begrenzte Tanzbereiche aufzuweisen. Dies stellte anfangs ein Problem dar, weil der Club ein leistungsstarkes Soundsystem benötigte, damit internationale DJs befriedigt werden können, die eingeladen werden sollten, um im Likuid zu spielen. Als Lösung wurde ein K-Array Kobra Line Soundsystem installiert. Das System entsprach dem Wunsch von Rachel nach einer hervorragenden Soundqualität und die Lautsprecher waren ebenfalls klein genug, um sich diskret in den Innenbereich einzugliedern. Marc Vincent von Sennheiser China war verantwortlich für das Audiodesign und Rachel war mit den Ergebnissen äußerst zufrieden. Ein auffälliges Beleuchtungsmerkmal von Likuid umfasst 72 einzelne grüne Laser, die einen ‚Laserregen’-Effekt erschaffen. Diese werden begleitet von einer Auswahl an herkömmlicheren Beleuchtungseinheiten und drei Leyard LED Wänden. Rachel hatte große Erwartungen für Likuid und ist sicherlich auf dem richtigen Weg, ihr Ziel zu erreichen, indem sie den Treff entsprechend ausgestattet hat.

corrente. E’ posizionato nel cuore della pulsante area del Lan Kwai Fung (LKF). La creatrice del locale, Rachel Geicke ha trovato divertente contribuire alla realizzazione delle scene di vita notturna del LKF, dando vita nel contempo ad una nuova esperienza per gli amanti del club. Elementi comuni degli spazi d’intrattenimento di Honk Kong sono dati dai soffitti bassi e da una alquanto ristretta zona calpestabile. Ciò ha difatti rappresentato un problema nella fase iniziale, richiedendo il club un sistema audio potente che potesse ospitare così i migliori DJ internazionali, chiamati ad effettuare le proprie performance al Likuid. La soluzione proposta è stata quella di installare un sistema suono K-array Kobra Line. Il sistema ha incontrato pertanto l’esigenza di Rachel di ottenere una qualità del suono superba, con l’utilizzo inoltre di altoparlanti abbastanza piccoli da adattarsi discretamente all’interno. Marc Vincent di Sennheiser Cina è stato responsabile del progetto audio, e Rachel si è mostrata pienamente soddisfatta dei risultati ottenuti. Anche l’illuminazione all’interno è davvero sorprendente e include 72 laser verdi singoli i quali vanno a creare un effetto “pioggia laser”, accompagnata da dispositivi più convenzionali e tre LED walls di Leyard. Rachel ripone delle grandi aspettative sul Likuid e avendo progettato il locale ad hoc, sembra proprio sulla strada giusta per raggiungere i suoi obiettivi.

La creadora del club, Rachel Geicke, deseaba mantener la vida nocturna en LKF y al mismo tiempo crear una nueva experiencia para quienes la frecuentan habitualmente. Es bastante común que los espacios de entretenimiento en Hong Kong se destaquen por los techos bajos y espacios de pistas limitados. Al principio esto planteaba un problema porque el club requería un sistema de sonido potente para satisfacer a los DJs internacionales que serían invitados a tocar en Likuid. La solución fue instalar un sistema de sonido K-array Kobra Line. El sistema cumplió con el deseo de Rachel de tener una calidad de sonido magnífica y los parlantes fueron también lo suficientemente pequeños como para encajar discretamente en el interior. Marc Vincent de Sennheiser China fue el responsable del diseño del audio, y Rachel estuvo extremadamente satisfecha con los resultados. La sorprendente iluminación en Likuid consta de 72 láseres simples verdes, los cuales crean un efecto de `lluvia de láseres . Esto se encuentra acompañado por una selección de dispositivos de iluminación más convencionales y tres paredes de Leyard LED.
