The L-Acoustics 8XTi and 12XTi coaxial enclosures are primarily engineered for the fixed installation market. Taking on the electro-acoustic design of the established XT series, the 8XTi and 12XTi feature a streamlined cabinetry and discrete rigging which can be colour-matched according to architect specifications. The XTi series can be acoustically and mechanically modelled using the proprietary Soundvision 3D simulation software or with the EASE / CATT data for acoustic design consultants. The XTi series bring cost-effectiveness and flexibility for installation projects thanks to a rationalised production and the implementation of the hybrid and flat presets in the new LA-Network Man- ager 1.2. The XTi series point-source technology is suited to distributed applications in semi-reverberant spaces where a single reflected source offers a more coherent radiation field with less reflected virtual sources than a dual horn-woofer combination. Point-source systems are also adapted to proximity applications such as stage monitoring, front-fills and under-balcony fills. The result is natural, studio monitor sound quality and the aural sensation of transparent sound. The 8XTi and 12XTi are available as plug and play solutions with LA4 and LA8 amplified controllers. These come with a complete set of dedicated preset libraries, providing the sound designer with total creative free- dom for any conceivable application in theatres, clubs, concert halls, broadcast and multipurpose facilities for FOH, fill and monitor modes. The integrated package offers contractors a high amplifier density, high efficiency for lower power consumption and less heat, and a fast and easy set-up. Finally it ensures performance consistency, predictability and the best possible component protection.

The LX-318HC is an ultra high power, cardiod, sub-bass cabinet with three 18-inch low frequency neodymium transducers with carbon fibre reinforced, straight ribbed cones and Double Silicon Spider (DSS) technology delivering extremely low distortion. The transducer cones are weather protected for outdoor use and optimised air flow reduces heat dissipation increasing power handling and lowering the power compression figure. Voice coil technology employs two layers of copper clad aluminium wire with triple roll, polycotton suspension. The system is powered with a total of 4.2kW of class D amplification with PFC (Power Factor Correction) and each cabinet has a 56 bit internal processing DSP integrated which offers both RMS and Peak limiting, lowering levels of distortion and protecting the speaker components and internal electronics. Other features include temperature sensor, fan speed control, inclinometer, Ethernet options and more. The LX-318HC cardiod cabinet is not a conventional cardiod but a ‘2 in 1’. Because of Lynx’s sophisticated integrated processor the user can select between omnidirectional or cardiod coverage, activating the rear speaker as well as selecting the rear frequency they most want to cancel, increasing the front pressure and directivity and ensuring that rear sound does not spill on to the stage behind the sub-bass.

The DD6’s Differential Dispersion technology provides an advanced solution to the requirements of even coverage over wide angles and medium throw distances. Designed using Martin Audio’s in-house BEM (Boundary Element Method) tools, the short throw horizontal dispersion of the horn is 120°, narrowing to 90° as throw increases. Vertically, the horn covers 60º, with greater output above the horizontal centre plane. The combination of narrower horizontal dispersion and greater output above the horn’s horizontal centre plane creates pro- gressively more HF output as the throw distance increases. The resultant dispersion pattern is ideally suited to covering audiences located on flat or gradually sloping surfaces. The comprehensive mounting options offer an incredible degree of flexibility for any application. M8 inserts can be used with eyebolts and there are three dedicated brackets available; a multipurpose vertical tilt bracket which can be at- tached to the top, bottom or side of the DD6 and can be used with a top hat fitting or scaffold clamp, a yoke for fitting to walls or ceilings in any orientation, and a wall bracket with invisible fitting to a wall.
