Many people said there had been a massive change in attitude to spending, and many companies discussed big installations that had just been completed or were about to begin. The overall response to this year’s show was very positive. Showtech Event Director Markus Jessberger echoed this thought, he said: “This year’s tradeshow demonstrated that the industry has left the crisis behind for good and is looking forward with realistic optimism.” The Showtech Product Awards returned as part of the show for a fifth time. The four awards categories were stage technology, lighting and projection technology, audio and media technology, events technology and services. The winners were: ASM-Steuerungstechnik for the HCWA scenery hoist series; JB Lighting for the A12 fixture; coolux for Widget Designer 3.0 Pro software; and festAkt for the Tablou Conus decorative table, respectively. We are especially pleased with the strong international interest in Showtech, which was reflected particularly regarding the MA Lighting, Rainbow Colour Changers and Major brands.” MA Lighting was showing off is latest dim- ming product, the dimMA compact during the tradeshow. Martin Professional brought a broad portfolio of award-winning lighting and video display products specifically designed to enhance the television and theatre experience to Showtech 2011. Amongst the highlights were the EC Series of LED screens, the MAC 101 moving heads, alongside Martin’s lighting controller the M1 and latest software, Maxedia 4.4. Rosi Marx, Marketing & European P&A Manager of ETC expressed similar positiv- ity towards the show. She said: “Our stand was crowded right from day one, visitor quality was very good and the response to our products was fantastic - what more do you want? The market’s interest in energy-efficient LED products, in particular, is very high.” The next Showtech exhibition will take place at the same location on 18 – 20 June 2013.
