SHOWTECH BERLIN
The biannual Showtech tradefair returned to the Berlin Exhibition Centre on 7 – 9 June. It is billed as the international stage for all things technical within the world of theatre, TV, staging and events. mondo*dr’s Curtis Campbell attended. The visitor total for Showtech 2011 fell just short of the 2009 figure, attracting 7,520 visitors overall. The decline was only 300 people, so not really enough for the organiser, Reed Exhibitions, to be too worried about. creased by 5%, taking the international visitor percentage to 32%. And many said the point of attending was to make investments, not just to network and catch up with industry colleagues. Managing Director of Showtech organiser Reed Exhibi- tions, Hans-Joachim Erbel said: “Showtech has further consolidated its position as the leading international meeting place for the industries it serves.” Over the course of three days, 322 exhibitors showcased the latest trends and innovations in light, sound and stage.
