in February this year. The Guangzhou International Expo on Pro Sound & Light is another show that is gaining momentum year on year. The decision to move the Palm Expo Beijing to the airport next year, which is out of town, and therefore perhaps considered inconvenient to get to, could potentially be a make or break move. Will as many people travel to a show on the outskirts of the city? Will some exhibitors want to assess how the first show in the new venue goes before signing up to exhibit? Only time will tell. On the show floor itself there were many first showings of products in the Asian market, but most were launched at Frankfurt earlier in the year. The audio product

demonstrations seemed longer and louder than usual, although not constant, it was almost as if the show’s rules on sound levels were being bent. Another noticeable aspect of the show was the number of manufacturers which have changed their Chinese distributor partner recently. This included DiGiCo exhibiting with Rightway Audio, which was appointed in September, as well as Tannoy’s move to Budee and Martin Audio adding Budee to its distribution network.
