PAL TORONTO

The 10th PAL Show took place at Toronto’s Direct Energy Centre, over two days, on 15 and 16 May. Self-proclaimed as ‘Canada’s leading professional audio, light- ing, music, audio visual, systems integration and entertainment technologies show’, it unsurprisingly attracted a reasonable selection of exhibitors. It seems, however, that there is another show staking a claim for the title. Sharing the show floor with Music Industries Association of Canada (MIAC) Show isn’t really ideal, but it is a small show and the two shows sat fairly comfortably side by side. Certain manufacturers, such as Yamaha and Roland, had stands on both shows, but generally the split was pretty clean. Christie Digital, which manufac- tures in Canada, was represented with a small stand, as were TC Group, TOA

Corporation Canada, Kramer Electronics Canada and Doyle Audio Engineering. Other brands were found on the stands of distributors. Sennheiser Canada displayed its own ranges, as well as its distributed brands. These include K-array, L-Acoustics, Kling & Freitag, Innovason and Neumann. Gerr Audio was there with Meyer Sound, DiGiCo and Clear-Com, Erikson Pro with Allen & Heath, Denon, Quest Vision, Martin Professional and Cloud, and LS Media with Avid. LS Media’s sister company, ACT Lighting, which distributes Clay Paky, MA Lighting, Wireless Solution, MDG and Reel EFX, shared its stand. Powersoft’s distributor of the year, Theatrixx, also showed its brands; Adamson, Green Hippo, JB Lighting, i-Pix, Visual Productions, Midiator and Visualed.
