The Jewel in The Crown

Michelin Starred modernity and beautiful British countryside combine at The Crown Hotel to provide the perfect backdrop for business or pleasure

The Crown Hotel, in the picturesque Georgian town of Blandford, is the oldest inn in Dorset. It is a perfect example of traditional British hospitality, but what sets it apart? Heritage. Hall and Woodhouse are one of

the few remaining regional family brewers, brewing our award-winning Dorset ales, and offering warm hospitality at their pubs for over 230 years. Still owned by the Woodhouse family, and frequently visited by them. The Crown boasts tradition and style, and not just in the 32 en suite four star graded rooms or the executive suite. Food. Designed by Michelin Starred executive chef Alec Howard, the food is simply sensational. From Foreman’s smoked Salmon to Purbeck Ice Cream, the key ingredient for the chefs is quality. The regional food partners, typically from family businesses like Hall & Woodhouse, provide quality ingredients that the team of talented chefs (not microwave technicians!) use to

create fresh, unpretentious, seasonal dishes.

Hospitality. The Crown Hotel employs

nice people who enjoy the same things that we all do - food & drink and a comfortable atmosphere. Perhaps more importantly, they take real pleasure in looking after people, and making each customer’s stay a special one. Location: Set in a magnificent Georgian house, rumour has it that the Crown Hotel is haunted by a women in black, and a cloaked highwayman who was shot dead in the courtyard. The beautifully panelled walls and carefully restored Oak floors make this the perfect place to explore the wonderful Georgian town of Blandford, and the wider beauty of the Blackmore Vale. The Crown also boasts 32 en-suite bedrooms, conference and banqueting facilities for up to 180 people and a large car park. Price: Room rates start at £80 for a

single, £110 for a double and the executive suite at £150. All rates include breakfast. On a Sunday you can check out at 6pm, after a lie in and Sunday Lunch, all for an extra £10 per person. Savvy customers may get the dinner bed and breakfast offer for £110 all in, so it’s worth a call in advance! Whether you’re planning a trip to Dorset

to see the UK’s only world heritage site of the Jurassic coast, visiting Monkey World, looking to purchase property at Sandbanks or you just fancy a nice break, then visit www.innforanight.co.uk and book the Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum.
